Kambrya College strives to promote positive student learning outcomes and experiences through its Year 7-10 curriculum, which is delivered through the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS). At years 7 and 8 students undertake studies in all core domains of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, The Arts, Technology, Health and Physical Education and Language other than English (LOTE). Improving Numeracy and Literacy is a priority at the College; therefore all students in year 7 and year 8 have access to intensive explicit Numeracy and Literacy instruction as part of their weekly learning program. Kambrya College offers a High Achievers program for students in Year 7-10. Students in this program are carefully selected by a process of external testing, written application and portfolio. The High Achievers program effectively extends and challenges our high performing students to achieve their personal best in all areas. At Year 9 and Year 10, in addition to the core domains of English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities, students are able to choose two electives per semester from a range of electives. These electives were developed to include student choice; student initiated learning; experiential learning; community education; goal setting and a combination of individual and group work.
